Peninsula Quarter Horse Association (Merricks)
Originally formed in 1984, we started out life as the Peninsula Western Riding Club and then became the Peninsula Quarter Horse Association.
We pride ourselves on being a family friendly club and we encourage participation at all levels, so whether you are starting out; looking to improve; or are a serious show competitor, there's something for everyone.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in learning more about all things Western.
Indeed, whilst we are a Quarter Horse Club and work to promote the breed, we have members who own and compete on other western (and non-western) breeds. Halter classes are held for Appaloosa's; Paints; and Paint-Bred horses, as well as Quarter Horses. Performance events cater for all.
The club is based at Merricks Station Reserve which is the home of Merricks Pony Club, Merricks Saddle Club and Peninsula Quarter Horse Association. Here we enjoy great facilities with three arenas; round-yard; cattle yards; grandstand seating; dedicated Club rooms; all weather parking; and beautiful treed grounds.
In addition to the above, a 6.3 km mostly tree-lined horse riding trail runs roughly east-west from Merricks Station Ground Reserve to Red Hill through mostly rural land between the Coolart and East Creeks.
