Paynesville Maritime Museum
Paynesville Maritime Museum is dedicated to researching, recording and retelling the maritime heritage of the village and surrounding area of Paynesville on the Gippsland Lakes in Victoria, Australia.
Paynesville Maritime Museum operates a small museum display which tells the story of maritime Paynesville with photographs, artefacts of the time and representations and has been the recipient of many kind donations of equipment etc from local families. The museum is open on the second Sunday each month from 8.30 to 12.30 in conjunction with the Lions town market which makes for a full morning of activity.
The museum also has an enthusiastic group of researchers who are using modern technologies to find and store the stories of the past.
The Museum's Display Centre is located in Raymond Street behind the playground at Gilsenan Reserve, Paynesville.
Opening Hours:
Open on the second Sunday each month from 8.30 to 12.30.
Make a morning of it and take in the Museum and the nearby Lions Club Community Market.
