Patchwork Park Playground, Primrose Street, Altona North
A spectacular playground with four colourful cubbies set at different heights which are connected by ramps, steps, net tunnels, rope ladders and rope tunnels.
Pick your cubby depending on your climbing skills. The blue cubby can be easily accessed by a ramp and has a medium tunnel slide and rope tunnel leading up to the orange cubby. The orange cubby can also be reached by steps and a rope tunnel from the green cubby. The green cubby can also be reached by a rope ladder and has scary high sloping parallel bars to exit. The pinnacle is a red cubby which is reached by a high rope tunnel ladder or a steep rope tunnel from the orange cubby. If you reach this cubby there is a big spiral tunnel slide to reach the ground again.
The playground also has a light blue cubby on the ground for those who don't like heights, spinning disk, birds nest swing, clangers to hit against pipes, climbing holds on the side of a soft mound and three standard swings.
At the end near the playground is a big shelter with two tables and BBQs, three unshaded tables, unshaded seats and water tap. In another corner is a shelter with two tables, BBQs and water tap. There is a grassy area for play. The playground is surrounded on all sides by houses (many still being built) and parking spots are limited.
