Hardy Gallagher Reserve Playground, Park Street, Princes Hill
The playground is located next to the former North Carlton Railway Station (now a Neighbourhood House) and a cute colourful train is mandatory. This is delivered in spades. The train has an engine with steering wheel and a carriage with a little seat for passengers.
The whole playground is most suited to younger kids and the main play structure is a case in point. It has a metal slide, ladder, fun play panel, vertical rope net, steps, little climbing wall with frog hand holds, balance beam, little ladder and disk step traverse. Next to this is a climbing frame with vertical rope net and tricky balance slide.
The playground also has a big spinning disk to sit on and spin around until you get deliriously giddy, see-saw, low monkey bars and horizontal bars, suspended swing which you stand on, huge suspended pear which you stand beside and swing on plus some standard swings.
There are unshaded seats beside the playground and next to the train station there are two unshaded tables, BBQ and a water tap. There is a big grassy area dotted with trees and the playground is located next to a shared use trail and near the Montemurro Bocce Club which has bocce courts available for hire.
The playground received an upgrade in 2015.
