P A Burns Reserve Fenced Dog Park (Altona)

P A Burns Reserve was previously entirely a dog off-leash area but a major development has been undertaken to ensure equity between all users of the area.

A large new car park has been created outside the Pines Scout Camp and there is now a fully fenced dog off-lead area with double gated entries, walking paths, seats and plantings. The fencing defines the dog off-leash areas in the reserve.

Next to the car park, there is an area which has dog wash stations, a drink fountain and bins.

Dogs are prohibited from the cricket oval and the fenced off conservation planting areas between the fenced area and the beach and must be on-leash within the reserve outside the fenced area and in the Altona Coastal park.

There are also defined paths from the fenced area and car park to the Altona Beach Dog Off Leash Area which is a beach where dogs have unlimited off-leash access. The beach has large areas of shallow water and sandy flats.
