Olinda Falls (Olinda)
Situated in the Dandenong Ranges, Olinda Falls has two viewing platforms. The upper platform is only about 300m walk from the car park. The Lower Falls is a further 140m down stream. Swimming is not allowed although it is possible to sit in the water at the base of the Lower falls.
The Olinda Falls toilets have been closed. Use the alternative toilets at Kalorama Park (Yosemite Road, Kalorama) or Dandenong Ranges Botanical Gardens (Falls Road, Olinda).
While in the area, the Olinda Playspace is well worth a visit.
Update at May 2023: The Olinda Falls lower viewing platform and creek crossing is closed indefinitely due to severe damage from a fallen tree. All access to the lower falls is closed to the public.
Review:
At the picnic area there are two tables. The more interesting view is at the Lower Falls which has viewing points on both sides of the creek. There is a steep descent of 140m (52 steps) to get to the Lower Falls. The Upper Falls is an easy walk.
Access for Dogs:
Dogs are not permitted.
