Nhill Lake
The Nhill lake, a small seasonal lake on the very edge of town, was built in 1960 and has been a source of enjoyment for locals for decades. The Nhill Lake is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Beneath shady gums, children play and swim, families enjoy BBQ's, and tourists relax. The track around the lake provides 1km of flat surface perfect for walking, cycling and running enthusiasts. There is a boardwalk and bird hide. The lawn area is used to host community events.
The lake is a permanent water source and is excellent for fishing, with redfin and rainbow trout. There is a boat ramp and the lake is also used for boating and water skiing. For powered vessels there is a daily launch fee of $10.
A swimming area is marked by red buoys and is prohibited to all vessels.
The Nhill Lake is run by a volunteer Committee of Management.
