NIDA is Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art, a centre of excellence in training for theatre, film and television.
NIDA selects and trains talented young people in a range of disciplines, including acting, directing, writing for performance, design, music theatre, production, costume, properties and staging. Students gain an unrivalled educational foundation in their chosen fields.
After opening our doors in 1959, NIDA has grown to become one of the world's leading dramatic and performing arts institutes. Graduates have gone on to work in the arts and entertainment industry throughout Australia and the world.
The NIDA training philosophy, educational expertise and facilities are available to the public through NIDA Open short courses and Corporate Performance business training courses.
