Experience Fly Fishing
Ever wanted to learn to fly fish? At River Escapes, we provide fly fishing tuition tailored to your specific requirements. Our tuition is at the rate of either 1:1 or 1:2, and can either be a half day or full day. For larger group sizes, please contact us for further options. A typical lesson involves theory streamside (including gear use and set-up, casting and line management, entomology and fly choice, fishing in different waters (lakes and rivers) and fish behaviour), and your newly learned skills will be taken on the water for the last half of the session. Fly Fishing Workshops
Our 2 and 3 day fly fishing workshops are for those seeking a comprehensive introduction to the sport in a relaxed and practical atmosphere. Great for either the beginner or intermediate fly angler wishing to further develop their skill set. Held at River Escapes Base Camp and close by waterways, our workshops are held at set weekends throughout the year. A typical workshop includes lunch and snacks (accommodation and meal packages available), casting and line management, gear use and set up, fly tying, knot tying, how to fish different environments including lakes, large or small rivers and small streams, fish behaviour, fish handling, streamside entomology and insect hatches, on-water sessions including, stream craft and fly choice.

Casting Tuition
It does not matter if you're a first timer or an old hand at fly casting, if you feel there is a need for improvement, we can help you achieve it. Fly casting lessons can help the trout, Murray cod or saltwater angler get the most out of both floating and sinking lines.

Introduction to Fly Fishing
We have found that some of our guests just want to experience casting a fly rod and fly fishing for the first time. During our introduction to fly fishing, you will spend the first half of the 3 hour session learning some basic casting techniques, with the second half spent on the river fishing.
