Mount Macedon - Camels Hump
The Camels Hump is the highest point in the Macedon Ranges, with a lookout offering visitors spectacular views. The viewing platform at the peak offers panoramic views to the north and west.
This is one of three local rocky outcrops formed by volcanic action millions of years ago.
Several walking tracks depart from the Camels Hump car park, with the most scenic track being the steep 500 metre path that ascends to the peak.
The Camels Hump to Days Picnic Ground walk is 1.8km. This is an easy to moderate circuit track that loops around Camels Hump and continues over Mount Macedon Road and on to Days Picnic Ground.
Camels Hump is a well-known spot for climbers.
