Mount Jeffcott Flora and Fauna Reserve (Jeffcott)

Declared a flora and fauna reserve in the 1970s, Mt. Jeffcott is slowly re-establishing its rare flora, including orchids and a unique form of eucalypt. It is home to kangaroos, wallabies, wedge-tailed eagles, goannas and of course snakes. Keep to the track as you climb the mount to avoid disturbance. The view from the top is well worth the climb, and you can return to the carpark for a barbecue and water.

Mount Jeffcott Nature Conservation Reserve is a field naturalist's delight with a diverse array of flora and fauna to be found. The mount can be seen for miles rising from the plains.

Visit in spring to enjoy a stunning carpet of wildflowers and listen to the song of the many birds that make the mount home. Enjoy a barbecue at the foot of Mount Jeffcott in the picnic shelter with gas barbecue.

How to get there - Mount Jeffcott is halfway between Charlton and Donald on the Boring Highway. Turn on to Cameron's Mail Road you will pass The Range before coming to Mount Jeffcott. Park at the car park and take the short but exhilarating climb to the summit for breathtaking panoramic views across the plains.
