Morwell - The Ascending Christ Artwork
Inside the St Mary's Anglican Church you will find 'The Ascending Christ' artwork by renowned Australian artist Arthur Boyd.
Originally commissioned for St John's in Yallourn in 1960, the artwork was moved to St Mary's in 1980.
Measuring 5 metres x 8 metres the impressive artwork is located behind the alter and features 16 masonite panels in casein and tempera paints of royal blue and white tones.
There is a large car-park at the rear of the church, off Buckley Street.
Open during Services on Sunday 8 am & 10 am and Wednesday 10 am or group viewings/tours by appointment.
