Morwell - St Lukes Morwell Uniting Church Labyrinth
A labyrinth is a single, winding path that leads to the centre. Various designs have been used in different cultures throughout time. Labyrinths became common in medieval European churches during the Crusades. According to legend, when people could not make a holy pilgrimage to Jerusalem because of war there, churches built labyrinths for pilgrims to walk as an alternative.
Today labyrinths are a popular meditation tool. Walking in and out along the zig-zagging path gives a simple focus that helps to centre and calm the mind.
We hope you will enjoy walking and exploring this simple labyrinth, and leave with a greater sense of peace, integrity and connection to your Creator.
The St Lukes Morwell Uniting Church labyrinth has been created from beds of sunflower plants which bloom around February and March.
