Coaching
Mornington Yacht Club offers coaching for Keel Boats, Off The Beach programs, private tuition or group coaching for any skill level or age-bracket.
All of Mornington Yacht Club's coaching team can coach a variety of classes including keelboats and off the beach. Whilst all our coaches sailed the Optimist class, and specialise in their youth class of choice it's our understanding of sail shapes and sailing physics that enables us to coach across a wide range of boats.
As a team we believe that our Mornington sailors deserve every opportunity to become the most competent sailors they can be, enabling them to enjoy every moment of our wonderful sport.
Keelboat coaching
Are you looking to improve your crew's sailing skills?
Want to beat that boat that always finishes just in front of you on a Thursday night?
Would you like to feel more comfortable steering your boat around the course?
Would you like to learn more about the tactics or strategy of racing?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions then you might be interested in engaging one of our fantastic coaches to spend some time onboard your boat. Our coaches would love to help you improve your sail trim, steering, strategy and tactical skills to help you move up through the fleet.
We can work with the skipper to improve their steering and decision making, or work with your main/jib trimmer's to improve the shape and steering angle available from your sails.
Off the Beach Programs
Mornington Yacht Club has introduced a new Junior and Youth Sailing Program, which runs for 11 months of the year (not in August).
Private Sessions
Private coaching sessions can be arranged to cater for the needs and class of any Mornington member.
Group Sessions

Training Camps
Throughout the year Mornington Yacht Club offers members and non-members with the opportunity for training camps (in addition to our Junior and Youth Sailing Program), often in conjunction with Victorian Class Associations.
