We pride ourselves on our range of diversity catering for players of all levels from beginners to junior coaching, social games and competitive competition.
There are 12 badminton coourts at the Somerville Recreation Centre, Somerville.
Social Badminton - Courts available to play with friends and family or join in with other players. No booking required. Players can participate regularly or casually without any commitment. Sessions run all year round except public holidays and Christmas/New Year. Shuttlecocks provided.
Level - Beginner, Social & Intermediate
Time: Tuesdays 6pm - 7:30pm
Price: Adults $12, Under 18yrs $10
Bring: A racquet, water bottle & non marking shoes
Provided: Court space & shuttlecocks. A loan racquet if required.
Social Ladies Badminton
Time: Wednesdays 9:30am - 12:30pm
Price: Ladies $12, Girls Under 18yrs $10
Bring: Wear comfy clothes and runners, Bring a water bottle
Provided: Mentors on hand to show you how, Beginners welcome, All equipment supplied, Inclusive and fun format, Onsite childcare available
Coaching - Badminton coaching is available for all standards of junior players by our qualified coaches. Beginners welcome, have fun while you're learning the basic skills of badminton, as you progress you'll learn game skills and scoring. Coaching is conducted in skill level groups. A great way to improve your fitness and get moving. The ideal all-weather sport all year round.
Time: Tuesdays 6:00pm - 7:30pm
Price: Adults $12, Under 18yrs $10
Bring: Water bottle & non marking shoes
Provided: A loan racquet, shuttlecocks, access to toilets
Mixed Competition - A friendly and social mixed competition to test and improve your game against a variety of players. Teams are formed to match abilities with two seasons running during the year, with trophies presented to competition winners and runners up each season.
Level - Beginner, Social & Intermediate
Time: Tuesdays: 7:30pm - 10pm. Winter Season (July - December) & Summer Season (February - June)
