Moonee Valley Bowls Club (Moonee Ponds)
The Club has two grass greens. No1 is a 7-rink green which is overlooked by the club house with good bowls viewing. It is constructed with bent grass which is an excellent bowling surface but not used in the winter months. Adjacent No1 green is the Jim Noonan Shelter: an all-weather seating, BBQ, and outdoor sink area. No2 is also a 7-rink green which backs onto No1 Green away from the club house. It is constructed with tiff grass which is an all-weather surface and used in the winter months. Adjacent No2 green is a large shade pergola area used for viewing bowls and barefoot bowls.
Membership
Membership of the Club is open to both genders and all age groups. We are a unique bowling club in that over 20% of our members are below the age of 25 years old. For this reason we foster and cater for the younger bowler as well as the more mature. The average age of a bowler at the Club is around 50 years old. We find that all age groups mix well and contributes to the culture and sporting prowess of the Club.
Barefoot Bowls
Great entertainment in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, where age and gender is no barrier to total enjoyment for all.
