Mildura Arts Centre
For almost half a century, Mildura Arts Centre has been the heart of the performing and visual arts experience in North West Victoria. The unique cultural complex has nurtured local talent, supported decades of festivals and touring productions, built one of Australia's most remarkable regional art collections, and been the home of countless creative ideas and opportunities. After almost three years of redevelopment, the New Mildura Arts Centre has opened its doors and invites those traditions to continue for another half century.
Just a stone's throw from the banks of the Murray River, the facility is home to Victoria's newest performing arts venue-an $8.7 million new theatre and state of the art stage for local productions, touring shows, and professional music, theatre, and dance productions. At the same address, visitors can also discover a regional art gallery and world-class collection, including an ongoing exhibition series and free public programming.
The stately Rio Vista Historic House, the original anchor of the centre and former home of town founder W. B. Chaffey, is another discovery waiting to happen. The grand red brick edifice continues to welcome residents and visitors interested in Sunraysia's fascinating heritage. An adjoining sculpture garden and lawns complete the experience, and connect Mildura Arts Centre's cultural precinct to the Murray River below.
Mildura Rural City Council wants these rejuvenated facilities to become a leading artistic destination and a catalyst for the growth of our region's creative profile. But we can't do it without you: and your own unique creative spark! Stop by Mildura Arts Centre and join us for art, performances, and endless inspiration.
