Classes
Ballet
Ballet classes are a great way to develop dance technique, build strength and help correct posture. We offer examination classes (RAD syllabus based) and non-examination classes. Exams are not compulsory, however students doing exams are encouraged to do two ballet classes per week. All competition students are required to do at least one ballet class per week. We also offer fairy ballet classes for the very young (from 2.5 years of age).
Jazz
Jazz classes are offered for all ages up to adult. Jazz incorporates a variety of dance styles and is very visual and powerful form of dance. Jazz encourages flexibility and instils a sense of strength in participants. All classes generally perform at least one number at our end of year concert.
Tap
Tap classes are offered for all ages up to Adult. Tap is a rhythmic & energetic dance style with many of our students mastering complex and visually spectacular routines. Our combined Jazz/Tap classes are structured so that half the class is spent working on each dance style. At the end of year concert students perform both a separate jazz & tap routine.
Singing
Private lessons are available for those wanting to learn to sing in half hour lessons providing one-on-one tuition. Our Singing & Drama classes (for groups) specialize in singing, movement, drama games & improv and is a great environment for building confidence in a group setting. We hold a singing Cabaret-style performance in August where students get to showcase their talents in a multiple of ways. The singing classes usually perform a number at our end of year concert.
Hip Hop
The latest and most contemporary of our dance styles offered, our hip hop classes are designed for those students who want to learn the latest moves as seen on music videos. This dance style would be defined as being unrestricted & sharp, yet loose. Classes are open to ages from 8 years up to Adult and provide a great workout for everyone!
Acro
This is a very physical class designed to teach the basics or more advanced levels of acrobatics depending on the student's level of exposure to this style previously. The class includes tuition in cartwheels, flips, one handed cartwheels, no hand cartwheels. This class does not do a routine at our end of year concert.
Musical Theatre
A very popular class providing students with an all-round emphasis on singing, dancing & acting. We undertake several Musical Theatre performances selected from popular Broadway/West End shows every year in October for the various age levels. Given our principals' backgrounds, this is a class not to be missed!
Adult Classes
A very popular class providing students with an all-round emphasis on singing, dancing & acting. We undertake several Musical Theatre performances selected from popular Broadway/West End shows every year in October for the various age levels. Contemporary dance borrows jazz, ballet and many more modern dance styles. Contemporary dance encourages natural, spontaneous movement and personal interpretation. It focuses on self-expression, awareness of space and body movement and explores the art of story telling through movement.
