Methven Park Playground, Methven Street, Brunswick East
The playground has had an upgrade but still maintains its heritage. The previous rickety wooden hut which slanted and looked like it would topple over from a puff of wind has been replaced with a structure which has a warped and off-centre look but follows all the local council building codes and could withstand a force 4 hurricane.
The structure has a high walkway, off-centre scrambling wall, nice metal slide, fireman's pole, wooden ladder, climbing wall, rope ladder and cubby underneath. There is also a nice chunky wooden monkey bars, cup with hand wheel to spin around, bike springer and swings. The playground receives quite a lot of shade from trees,
The park has lots of lovely shady trees and plenty of grassy area. Unshaded tables, seats, BBQ and water tap.
