Mentone Edge Bowling Club
The Mentone Bowling Club was founded on 27 November 1902 and is currently located on the corner of Balcombe Road and Swanston Street in Mentone. It has become a Mentone icon over the years. We currently have one grass green and a synthetic green with lights which are used for pennant bowls and barefoot bowls.
All new or experienced bowlers are welcome to join as are social members!
Mentone have 4 Tuesday pennant and 5 Saturday pennant sides as part of the weekly Metropolitan Competition.
Throughout the year we are able to hire out the venue for functions, provide barefoot bowls and host a weekly happy hour offering our range of drinks over the bar.
Barefoot Bowls
Are you looking for a fun and cheap night out with friends or work colleagues? Barefoot Bowls is only $10 for up to 2 hours and the bar will be open. Bookings are essential with other days available on request. Bookings do not include hire of the clubhouse, kitchen, etc.
Cost:
$10 per person for up to 2 hours (includes bowls hire and green fees)
Drinks at bar prices (the cheapest in Mentone!)
Conditions:
Flat soled shoes or bare feet required
No BYO drinks (alcohol or soft drink)
No drinking or smoking on the green
Children are welcome but need to be supervised at all times
Children under 5 are not permitted on the greens for safety reasons
