McCormack Park Playground, Jennings Street, Laverton
A lovely play space suited to younger kids which has a huge snake slithering out of the sandpit. The sandpit has a digger on the side but junior construction workers need to be brave to work alongside that huge ravenous snake who seems to love digesting yellow hard hats.
Other play items include a mound with climbing holds on the side and a metal slide, spinning plastic carousel with four comfy seats (although Dad might need to rest on a comfy sofa the next day to recover from all the pushing needed to keep it in motion), small birds nest swing, small pyramid rope climbing frame, plastic igloo which can be used as a cubby or climbing frame and a lovely little music area with xylophone and drums.
Along the side is a fun and interesting obstacle / balance course with logs and rocks. Look out for lots of embedded creatures and objects along the course.
There is a shelter with four tables, three unshaded tables, BBQ, water tap, toilets, large grassy area and nice skate park. There are concrete paths in the area for bike riding. The playground has been upgraded.
