Matlock Street Reserve Playground, Matlock Street, Canterbury
A lovely setting with plenty of shady trees beside the playground. There is a fence with a security gate along the side facing the road and a path which is guarded by a seat is the only way for the kids to escape. The playground is interesting enough that they are unlikely to try and escape anyway.
The main structure is quite extensive and has a low and high end for different ages. There are two wave slides, steps, tic-tac-toe, tunnel, multiple levels, abacus, shop front, ladder, inclined bridge, monkey bars, horizontal bar and hanging disks. Also a big play cubby named "Sullivan's" - look out for Kitty Sullivan. There is a dune buggy with steering wheel, standard swings, lotus leaf spinner with hand wheel, little four person rocker and birds nest swing.
The playground is looked over by a large wooden magpie and has a table and unshaded seats. The playground has a water tap and limited grassy area.
