Churchill - Mathison Park / Lake Hyland

Around the lake is a playground with All Ages Fitness Station, walking track, fishing platforms, picnic tables, BBQs, toilets, model powerboat launching ramp and old farmhouse ruins.

This stocked lake in Churchill is the perfect place to bring the family to catch rainbow trout or redfin in a bushland setting. Lake Hyland is a specially designated fishing location for families and is regularly stocked with rainbow trout. A Recreational Fishing License (RFL) is required and a daily catch limit applies. The lake has five fishing platforms with disabled access.

The path around the lake is gravel and there is a boardwalk section. At the south end of the lake is Hare's Farmhouse ruins and an example of an O'Halloran's underground water tank used to store and provide domestic water and also water for the dairy formerly located at the site. The walk around the lake will only take about 20 minutes and there are plenty of waterbirds.
