Marysville - Tree Fern Gully Walk to Steavenson Falls
The Fern Gully walk, is a medium grade walk from the township of Marysville to Steavenson Falls, Marysville's premier tourist attraction. The walk follows the Steavenson River as it meanders up the Steavenson Gully. The track crosses the river twice as well as Yellow Dog Track, near the Yellow Dog Day Visitor Area.
The walk is 3.8 km from Gallipoli Park to the base of Steavenson Falls (7.6 km return). The gradient is mostly gradual, though there are a few steeper areas where care should be taken, especially in the wetter months.
The walk is shaded by mountain ash, gums and peppermints and there are beautiful wildflowers to be seen and native animals to be heard.
Once at the falls, you can enjoy the numerous viewing platforms, read the interpretative signage, or just sit on the numerous seats and enjoy the surrounds. A public toilet is located in the carpark area. You can also walk to the top of the falls where another viewing platform overlooks the gully and falls below.
