Marysville - Keppel Lookout
Keppel Lookout is 860 m above sea level in the Yarra Ranges National Park. It offers magnificent views north across the township of Marysville and up the beautiful Acheron Valley towards the townships of Buxton, Taggerty and Alexandra.
The lookout is a 10 minute drive from central Marysville, making it excellent for tourists who wish to enjoy one of the best views in our district. On a clear day you can see the Highlands to the north of Alexandra, as well as views of the significant Cathedral Range in the Cathedral Range State Park.
The lookout was destroyed during the Black Saturday Bushfires of February 2009, however Parks Victoria rebuilt the lookout and opened it to the public in 2012. It is estimated that over 80 percent of the bushland visible from this lookout was burnt during the 2009 wildfires.
