Maryborough - Bluchers Reef Whim Platform
This site has a well-preserved whim platform near the Bluchers Reef mine site in the Craigie State Forest.
A whim was a device for hauling ore up a shaft. It was a vertically-mounted wooden drum to which a rope was attached, and then passed over a pulley and down the shaft. It was wound by a horse, led around a circular track.
It is located south of Bluchers Track. Travel south east from Marysborough along Argyle Road and turn left into Bluchers Track. The site is before the M96 Track branches off.
