Marlo - Snowy River Estuary Walk



Starting in the coastal township of Marlo, the Snowy River Estuary Walk provides an amazing insight into unique environs surrounding the lower reaches of the Snowy River estuary, linking through to the wild ocean beach opposite Frenches Narrows.

The walk provides breathtaking elevated views of the estuary, river mouth and the sweep of coastline to Point Ricardo in the east. The numerous boardwalk sections provide excellent vantage points to observe birdlife and other inhabitants of the backwaters and wetlands.

From: Cnr Marlo Road and Jorgensen Street, Marlo
To: Frenches Narrows

Turn off the Princes Hwy (A1) at Orbost onto the Mario Rd (C107).The walk can be accessed from a number of points within the Mario township between Jorgensen Street and Mills Street, with car parking at Sampsons Lookout. Alternatively the walk can be accessed via the Mots Beach car park (2km east of Marlo) or via the steps from the Frenches Narrows car park (3km east of Marlo).

Length: 5.1km (1 hour 40 minutes) one way
Facilities: Parking and picnic facilities (toilets available in Marlo town centre)
Surface:Level 1 (Marlo-Mots Beach) / Level 2 (Mots Beach steps - Ocean Beach)
