Maribyrnong Park Playground, The Boulevard, Moonee Ponds
Wooden adventure type playground located next to the Boathouse Cafe which overlooks the Maribyrnong River.
The main structure, which is covered in shade sails, has ramps for access and contains lots of fun and interesting elements scattered about. The structure has dual wave slides, climbing wall, suspended net to traverse across, cubby underneath, monkey bars, flying fox, steering wheels, small slide and unusual equipment to make sounds.
There is also a boat on a rocker, see-saw, horizontal bars, stand-on spinner, various other music making equipment and four swings including two with large plastic seats.
A highlight is an interactive sculpture area with puzzles. This area has a short up and down wavy path for scooters and bikes.
There is plenty of water about including a large pond with a bridge leading to an island in the middle and so some vigilance is required. Plenty of shaded and unshaded seats. Water tap. Shade sails have been installed over the playground since this review.
