Margaret Lawrence Gallery (Southbank)
The Margaret Lawrence Gallery is a contemporary art space located in the heart of Melbourne's Arts Precinct. It was established in 2001 to provide crucial links between the Victorian College of the Arts and the University of Melbourne (with its community of academics, artists and students), the wider communities of Victoria and the national arts and research community.
The gallery performs an integral and generative function within the VCA artistic community and is a showcase for new work, playing an educational role for the Victorian and Australian arts community.

Review:
Conveniently located in the Southbank arts precinct near the ACCA and the Yellow Peril sculpture. On the ground floor there is an exhibition space comprising a decent sized room which merges into another room. Most of the exhibitions we have seen here are video based. Information is usually provided using a printed brochure. Stairs lead upstairs to another room but we are yet to see anything exhibited here. There are toilets.
