Mappin Reserve Playground, Nicholson Street, Seddon
Fun, interesting and very bright playground. One area with woodchip ground cover has a structure with some unusual elements including a tyre ladder, swings seat suspended from two poles, suspended long plastic seat, letter Z climbing wall, orange plastic disks on a vertical pole, ladder made from tyres, circular vertical rope climbing frame, slanting parallel bars and monkey rungs. This also has a cute snake springer, sailboard rocker and swings. At the edge of this area are two slides which lead to a good sized grassy area.
The other area has a soft rubbery base. The main structure has a wave slide, spiral ladder, ladder with square rungs, walkway, chain ladders and steps. There is also a fantastic buggy on rockers (for a realistic off-road experience), a little swing suspended from poles, a very large sandpit, which is almost all covered by a sun shade, which has a "Sand Balance Centre" with lots of play opportunities.
The playground area has coloured walls around it which our kids loved to walk along. Big concrete basketball court. Unshaded table and some seating positions which are shaded. Water tap.
