Mangalore Flora Reserve
The Mangalore Flora Reserve has massed orchids in spring and the possibility to spot Gilbert's Whistler, goannas and wallabies.
The Mangalore Flora Reserve is located at the west end of Mangalore Road.
A gravel road leads to the reserve and there is a small round carpark at the entrance to the reserve. There are no facilities such as water taps or toilets at the reserve.
Continue along the main gravel road and after a short time the track branches off to the right (north). The path is not sign-posted but is easy to follow without getting lost. The reserve is quite isolated but there is traffic noise from the Goulburn Valley Freeway and neighbouring properties can be seen along part of the walk.
We went in early December and there were lots of spring flowers but there was not a lot of variety, with most flowers being "yellow daisies". There were lots of butterflies flitting about the paths.
We did see kangaroos in the distance in multiple places.
