Malvern Braves Baseball Club is a proud family baseball club based at Wadsworth Field, Sir Zelman Cowen Park, Kooyong.
Malvern Baseball Club was founded in 1898. Currently the club has teams in the mens and junior competitions, with juniors ranging from our Friday night Little League and Junior League teams, to Sunday morning teams for Little League, Junior League, and Under 18s. Senior men play on Sunday afternoons, with the firsts also playing midweek fixtures.
Our junior players at Malvern have an opportunity to play on Friday nights and/or Sunday mornings. This allows flexibility for families with other sporting or family commitments. We foster inclusion regardless of ability. Young girls compete with boys in our junior teams. We can have up to 15 players in a team at any one time. This ensures that every child who wishes to play is able to. So come to a training session on a Tuesday evening from 5.00pm and we will look after you and ensure you get game time.
Juniors
Malvern Baseball Club has junior teams for boys and girls to enjoy the great game of baseball from the age of 5 to 17. With teams playing on both Friday nights and Sunday mornings, there's plenty of opportunities and we welcome new players of all levels, so come along and give it a try!
Friday night
Friday Night Junior competition during summer is a great way to get into baseball including Teeball, Little League and Junior league. The season kicks off at Malvern in early October and runs through until Feb/March with games played between 6-8pm.
Aussie Teeball (6-7pm Fridays)
A great game for boys and girls aged 5 through to 8/9 with a strong focus on having fun while learning the basics of baseball. Malvern is always looking to increase the number of kids playing Teeball at the club, so new players are always welcome.
Little League
Little league is an International program that sees one Australian regional team represent Australia in the Little league World Series in the USA every August.
Little League is the step up from teeball for the under 12 age group. Malvern is part of the Australian Little League program and our players have the opportunity to participate within our local charter group to gain selection in a Charter representative team. This team then plays for the chance to represent Australia in the annual Little League World Series in USA.
Players from the Friday night competition can be selected to Sunday morning rep teams which compete across the Melbourne Metro area. You don't have to have played teeball to play U12s so new players, as always, are welcome.
Junior League
Junior League is the U14 version of Little League with games within our charter planned for Friday nights. A charter representative team is selected to compete in state championships during the January period.
Players from the Friday night competition can be selected to Sunday morning rep teams which compete across the Melbourne Metro area.
Sunday Representative Teams U16 & U18
Sunday has a metro and/or state wide competition that is a great opportunity for players to represent Malvern against other clubs.
Malvern will once again have junior rep teams playing in the Sunday morning competitions. The Sunday morning competition is a great opportunity to take your baseball to the next level and represent Malvern with games played every Sunday morning from 9-11am.
