Maldon Vintage Machinery Museum

This Vintage Machinery Museum, home of "Auntie Jack" has on display is an assortment of historic exhibits dating from the mid 1800's including vintage machinery (agricultural, pastoral, forestry, mining, printing, industrial and fire-fighting equipment) and photographs.

Key exhibits include:
  • The Steam Generating Plant that ran Thompsons Foundry, Castlemaine in the late 1800's and into the early 1900's.
  • Old Driveshaft from the Castlemaine Woollen Mill. Used to drive many spinning and weaving machines.
  • The Old Otley Printing Press that printed the Tarrangower Times Maldon's own local Newspaper over 150 years of age.
  • The Wooden Tarrangower Times Truck
  • The Blacksmith Shop
  • The Flat Belt Drive Line of Industrial Machinery
  • Maldon's 1st Fire Truck 1899 - Merryweather horse drawn hand pump
  • Marshall Steam Engine Nicknamed 'Auntie Jack'
  • Sunbeam Motor Cycle early 1950's (Used in the movie Romulus, My Father)
  • A local showcase of machinery that worked the land, the township of Maldon and has pioneered the way we live today.

Opening Times
Our museum is run by our volunteers and members. We aim to open on the times listed below, but things do pop up from time-to-time. It is best that you give us a call first, particularly if you are travelling some distance to get to us.

As the museum does not receive any government funding and relies on public donations, please put something in the Donation Box.
