Macleod Village Green Playground, Birdwood Avenue, Macleod
The playground is located within a grassy area with a shopping strip on one side and car park/train station on the other side. There is fencing which provides some protection along the road but it is not fully fenced. Most of the playground is under shade sails. The playground is generally more suited to younger kids.
The main wooden structure has two wave slides, fireman's pole, shop front, various ladders, arched walkway, 'Find a word panel', rope bridges, monkey bars and maze panel. Also four standard swings, birds nest swing, percussion flowers to hit with a clanger, rock steppers, drums, spinning cup with hand wheel, lovely train to drive with a ticket box, Village book exchange and dry creek bed (no water).
This playground has the first internet-connected, interactive play technology in Victoria. It offers exciting educational and physical play in one interactive internet-connected playset. All the games aim to challenge children from age 4+ by using their brains and creativity in a fun format. There are currently over 56 different games from maths, memory, fitness, creativity, language, and team play. There are seven towers with electric signage and management. One game that kids were playing was waiting for a sequential number to appear in the display, racing to that tower, touching it and then racing to the next tower as quick as they could.
There is a shelter with two tables, unshaded seats, water tap, toilets (across the road), BBQs, rotunda, outdoor gym and grassy area.
