Lyell Iffla Reserve Playground, Lyell Street, South Melbourne

A beautiful local playground which blends in well to the natural environment. The highlight is a medium sized rope climbing frame with a thick rope bridge, rope ladder and suspended ladder for access and a huge metal slide for a quick route down. Also a birds nest swing, circular donut at an angle which turns around, see-saw, monkey bars, sandpit (make that a gravel pit actually) and lots of balance walks made from natural materials. Lovely wooden carvings including a kangaroo, toadstool house and goannas.
Unshaded tables and seats, water tap and limited grassy area. There are two raised wooden containers with plants, herbs and vegetables.
