Lockington & District Living Heritage Complex

The Lockington and District Living Heritage Complex is a local history museum featuring an amazing array of heritage farming equipment. It is also home to a sculpture of Lockington's favourite son and shearing champion: the late Kevin Sarre.
At the Complex, you can view the collection of local history memorabilia, research the history of Lockington & District or join in the many events held there. Guided tours available. Souvenirs on sale as well as publications for those interested in local history or family history research.

The site was formerly the "O'Brien Stores" and the buildings have been restored and developed into a local history museum and resource centre which opened to the public in 1997. The centre aims to conserve, promote and share the heritage of Lockington & District from pre-white settlement to the present day for the purposes of education, enjoyment. Visitors will see a wide range of historical artefacts that were used in the district and have been donated by local residents. Exhibits include: General displays, Shearing Shed, Blacksmith Shop, Dairy Shed, Class-room of old, PMG hut, Masonic Lodge, Restored Tram, Australia's first pop-top caravan, we believe, built in 1939, Locally built tractors, Steam truck, numerous tractors and more...
