Location of Free Golf Practice Cages in Melbourne
There are a number of free golf practice cages in Melbourne and they are a particular feature of Glen Eira council. The cages, also called a Birdie Cage Golf Practice Facility are free to use. They have a design which allows golfers to practice and perfect their stance, grip and swing without endangering themselves or the general public.
The locations are:
- Victory Park, 226 Tucker Road, Bentleigh
- Bailey Reserve, 34 Gardeners Road, Bentleigh East (along Gardeners Road and north of the carpark)
- Centenary Park, Cnr Leonie Ave and Brady Road, Bentleigh East
- King George VI Memorial Reserve, 72 East Boundary Road, Bentleigh East
- Packer Park, 118 Leila Road, Carnegie (north east of velodrome)
- Koornang Park, 90 Lyons Street, Carnegie
- Glen Huntly Park, 60 Neerim Road, Caulfield East
- Caulfield Park, 746 Inkerman Road, Caulfield North (along Inkerman Road and east of City Of Glen Eira Park Depot)
- Casey Fields, 160 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne east (south west of oval #2 in Casey Fields)
- Allnutt Park, 31 Wheatley Road, McKinnon (in the middle of the park)
- McKinnon Reserve, 295 McKinnon Road, McKinnon (west of playground)
- EE Gunn Reserve, 16 Foch Street, Ormond (east of Ormond Tennis Club)
The conditions for using the facilities are:
- Only one person to use the facility a a time.
- Ensure that the door is closed before starting practice.
- The facility to be used during daylight hours only.
- Hitting of golf balls only allowed towards net end of facility.
- The council and its servants and agents accept no liability loss or injury occurring on the facility.
- Users accept they use this area at their own risk.
- No glass is to be brought into the facility.
- No alcohol is to be consumed at the facility.
