Living Culture runs cultural and environmental programs based on the Mornington Peninsula.

Guided Walks and Meditation Sessions
Living Culture offers a variety of guided walks and Meditation healing sessions for all ages and abilities, all of which take place in a variety of stunning coastal and bush settings of the Mornington Peninsula. Rich with indigenous significance and abundant with native fauna and flora, your guide will point out the plants and areas of interest along your walk and their use and significance in medicine, bushtucker and Indigenous culture.
On our guided walks, our aim is to empower, educate and engage all different folks from different backgrounds and ages and bring them in close contact to the land. On our walks we can show in a practical way, what the traditional people have known and used for everyday food, medicine and utensils from the bush, in an ancient time where no modern amenities were available. We explain and show the use of artefacts and different things that the land has to offer.

Yidaki (Didgeridoo) Led Meditation & Healing
Traditionally played as an accompaniment to ceremonial dancing and singing and for solo or recreational purposes, the Yidaki is a wind instrument that produces low frequency sound that we can hear and actual vibrations that we can feel, especially if the end of the instrument is placed close to the body. The Yidaki can be linked to 'musica universaiis' (music of the spheres), an ancient concept that links celestial bodies of sun, moon and planets as a form of music.
Due to its powerful sound vibrations, the yidaki can help listeners enter deep states of relaxation or trance, opening the way for remarkable sound healing that can offer great therapeutic benefits.
Workshops
Living Culture provides a selection of public workshops from set locations as well as for prearranged bespoke bookings.
Join Carla Lauch in weaving a basket using both traditional grasses and modern materials. Carla teaches traditional techniques as taught by her Great Aunt & Elder from her maternal bloodline, the Gunditjmara - Kirrae Wurrung tribe from the Western districts of Victoria.
Smoking Ceremonies & Acknowledgment of Country
Lionel's smoking ceremonies use three plants that are used in ritual on Bunurong/Boonwurrung County. Properties of these plants protect guests both physically and spiritually. A smoking can be used in welcome, celebration, birth, deaths, to cleanse bad energy and spirits.
A Welcome to Country can only be done by someone who is a Traditional Owner Country e.g. Bunurong/Boonwurung. A Welcome is an obligation to protect your guests both physically and spiritually. An Acknowledgement is an obligation to protect the people's land and water you are on.
Access for Dogs:
We offer specialty dog walks which are located at the McCrae foreshore. All other walks are held on National Park land so unfortunately dogs are not permitted.
