Laughing Waters Waterhole (Eltham)
A set of deep pools on the Yarra River with a few tiny rapids and a thin sandy beach. The water becomes deep quickly so it is not a good location for inexperienced swimmers. A lot of people bring a lilo here.
The area is secluded and surrounded by bushland. There are some quite steep banks on the side but there are some steps.
Overall, on hot days finding a parking spot and space on the river bank can be difficult.
Directions: Drive to the intersection of Reynolds Road and Laughing Waters Road (around #264 Reynolds Road). Follow the gravel Laughing Waters Road for 2km until the end of the road (next to Caitlin's Retreat). Park on the side of the road and there is a short walk down to the Yarra river.
