Landsborough - Statue of William Landsborough
Landsborough is an old gold mining town founded in 1862 and named in honour of William Landsborough the explorer.
A statue of William Landsborough stands in front of the Landsborough Public Hall. The associated plaque text is:

Born Ayrshire Scotland 1825
died at Caloundra 1886
In 1861 he was chosen by Victoria and Queensland Governments to lead a search for Burke and Wills.
