Lake Eppalock
Lake Eppalock is perfect for water based activities and family picnics. Constructed on the Campaspe River in the 1960s, this vast lake has always been popular for boating and water recreation, including waterskiing and fishing.
Lake Eppalock was constructed between 1960 and 1964 to provide irrigation from the Campaspe River, and to supply water to Bendigo. Lake Eppalock supplies irrigation and stock and domestic water to the Campaspe Irrigation district and urban supplies to Bendigo, Heathcote and more recently Ballarat.
Lake Eppalock facilities include a boat ramp, car parking, barbecues, picnic area, playground and toilets. The Kimbolton Recreational Area features all-access toilet facilities and an all-access barbecue and seating.
Lake Eppalock includes caravan parks. Camping is only permitted in caravan parks.
No fires are permitted on the foreshore. There are no rubbish facilities at the lake. Please take out what you bring.
Fishing
The lake supports stocked populations of golden perch, Murray cod and brown trout, which are released annually by the Victorian Fisheries Authority. The lake is also home to redfin, carp and yabbies, which breed naturally in the lake.
Catch limits and fishing equipment restrictions apply. A Recreational Fishing Licence is required to fish Victorian waters, unless exempt, and can be purchased online.
At Randalls Cove Recreation Area there were some picnic tables, sheltered BBQs and toilets.
