Kyneton Community Park Playspace, Clowes Street, Kyneton
The delightful play space, which provides a nature based play experience for people of all ages and abilities, is located in the beautiful Kyneton Botanic Gardens.
The play elements are scattered around shady trees and bushes. This makes it fun to run about and find exciting things but it does make it difficult to keep track of where your kids are - maybe this is where an iTag comes in handy.
There is lots to find including colourful refurbished tractors, big elevated rope obstacle course, rope net, multiple fence mazes, birds nest swing, several sand play areas (including one with a wooden maze), colourful piles of tyres, balancing logs, cubbies, elevated towers reached by various ladders with a big metal slide and two swings with very long chains which you can fly to the moon on.
Invite along Dora the Explorer because there is lots to explore here and I'm sure we missed some fun things.
The water play area features an interactive splash pad experience for children, with small bubblers that cascade water over rocks and larger water jets that splash water onto the splash pad for children to play in and walk through.
The bubblers and jets are operated by foot buttons located on the splash pad and operate in random patterns for a set time. The system is automated to operate between 9.30am and 8pm from early December to early March. A water quality and filtration system is monitored daily and the water-play automatically shuts down should there be any water quality concerns.
There is a table tennis table and petanque piste. An area has picnic shelters, picnic tables (including an accessible picnic table) BBQs, water tap and accessible toilets.
