Knox Park Fenced Dog Park (Knoxfield)
A fenced area about 150m long and 35m wide. At the southern end is a grassy area for dogs to run around and chase balls and in the middle is a doggy obstacle course laid out in an oval shape which has two sets of six poles to weave through, a square shape to jump through, car tyres to jump through (three of these set at different heights), hurdles to jump over, elevated plank to run along and an elevated platform. That's enough to keep the dog and handler fit and healthy. In the middle of this oval is an area with ramps which has artificial grass with a concrete tunnel in the middle. This area is surrounded by big rocks.
Logs are provided for seating and there are three bench seats under trees. Two water taps are provided for people and dogs.
When we were there on a nice Sunday morning there were about 15 other dogs. It can feel a bit claustrophobic, especially if your dog doesn't handle a lot of other dogs.
A bin is provided for disposal of doggy bags.
The park can become very muddy after rain.
There is an unnamed road to the south of Ferntree Gully Road beside the dog park where you can park.
