Kitty Miller Bay Walk (Phillip Island)
The Kitty Miller Bay walk offers lovely coastal views as you walk around the headland and bay from Kitty Miller Bay beach.
If you walk to the left of the bay on low tide, you will be able to see the site of the SS Speke shipwreck. The Speke was the second-largest ship-rigged vessel ever built. In February 1906 it ran ashore on Phillip Island as a result of poor navigation by the captain. One man was drowned when one of the lifeboats capsized, but the remainder of the crew reached safety.
During the Marine Board of Inquiry, the master stated that a bush fire had obscured the land, and that heavy seas from the south-west caused the vessel to go ashore. He was found guilty of poor navigation and lost his master's certificate for 12 months.

Review:
The highlight of the walk is finding the SS Speke shipwreck strewn along the neighbouring beach.
There is a car park but no facilities. Take the staircase down to the rocky beach and then follow the path to the left at the back of the beach. The path rises up to the top of the headland which provides nice views. Continue along the path to get to the beach which has the shipwreck.
There's quite a steep path down to the beach but it is manageable with a bit of scrambling.
