Point 1 on the map refers to an incident where a pilot was killed in an aircraft crash in 1949 and point 2 refers to moving of the grandstand from the east to the west side of the racecourse in 1947.

The design of the Racecourse trail focuses on protecting the natural environment, heritage and rural character. The trail provides a great opportunity to combine sustainable trail development with restoration and all important ongoing maintenance of the biodiversity of these special areas. The construction of the trail has included revegetation of the road reserve. The planning for the trail has avoided the removal, destruction or lopping of native vegetation by providing alignments that areas of native vegetation.

Roadside vegetation plays an important role as a wildlife habitat. Tracts of remnant vegetation are fragmented in the area and roadside areas represent one of the largest reserves of native vegetation species. Throughout the trail, native trees and bushes hove been planted to provide food and shelter for the native animals. Nest boxes hove been installed to supplement the existing nesting trees.

Review:

The east side of the walk is through light bushland with some seats to rest on. During Spring there were plenty of wildflowers and some orchids.

On the east side there is a fun bridge with the sign "Beware of Troll". Look down and you might see the signs of the troll.
