Kei Shin Kan Karate (Doncaster East)
Australian Kei Shin Kan Karate Do commenced in Australia in 1971 and has dojos internationally and nationally within Australian including three dojos in Melbourne.
Kei Shin Kan Karate Do is a not for profit dojo and is dedicated to following the teachings of traditional Okinawan Japanese Karate Do as passed on by Grand Master Takazawa. Focus is established on:
- Developing self discipline, patience, respect and a strength of spirit
- Strong foundation of basic techniques
- Development of speed, power, timing, accuracy and correct breathing
- Training designed to cater to all students, all ages and physical abilities
- Precise and controlled sparring
- In depth study of kata techniques and traditional spirit of Karate Do
Studying the martial art of Karate is one of the most effective ways to improve yourself physically and mentally. Karate training requires strenuous physical and mental discipline. It helps build a strong character and respect for other people. It originated as a system of self defence using the unarmed body to block or avoid attacks, and to effectively counter attack.
Dedicated Karate practice improves the mind through the teachings of self control, effort, etiquette and respect for fellow students.
The dojo is located at the Heimat Centre, Doncaster East.
