Kaniva Art Silos
The painting by Melbourne artist David Lee Pereira incorporates Wimmera flora and fauna into the mural including the Australian Hobby, a small falcon which is one of six Australian members of the family 'Falconidae'. Flowers beside the bird are the Plains sun orchid (Thelymitra megacalyptra) and the Salmon/Pink sun orchid (Thelymitra rubra). They flower between September and November, and generally only open on warm, humid days.
