Kangaroo Ground Adult Riding Club (Kangaroo Ground)

Located in the beautiful green wedge suburb of Kangaroo Ground, our club has operated since 1979 and was founded to provide a friendly atmosphere and safe environment for horses and riders of all interests and skill levels.

Our rallies aim to make riding a safer, more enjoyable experience by increasing your riding skills and horse mastership and to provide a friendly environment wherein riders can improve their horsemanship skill under the expert eye of quality instructors. The camaraderie experienced by our club is well known and often commented upon by other members of the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV).

We are a member of the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV) and this gives the opportunity to share our love of horses and riding, as well as regular competitions with other member clubs all over Victoria. The club is for adults but riders aged 16-18 can be with an adult.

We are a very friendly and diverse bunch of riders, and our horses are just as varied. Our riders range from very competitive and successful dressage riders, to trail riders, and natural horsemanship enthusiasts. Although our aspirations vary from being successful in elite competition to mastering canter (without bouncing around!), and from being confident to trot down a row of poles to jumping 1.20m rounds we all aim to improve our riding and our horses way of going so that they can enjoy their work with us just as much as we enjoy riding them. It's amazing how the bond of horse ownership can transcend differences in people.

We are fortunate to be able to share the fantastic facilities owned by Kangaroo Ground Pony Club, who are the only Pony Club in Victoria lucky enough to own their own grounds. The grounds include six sand arenas, show jumping equipment, a cross-country course, yards, wash bay and club rooms.

Rallies
Thursday Rallies are held every week and Weekend Rallies are held on the 2nd Sunday of every month and the 4th Saturday of every month.

Lessons types and start times vary weekly but generally run between 9 and 11am depending on instructors and numbers. Group lessons are kept to a manageable number by a team of dedicated Rally Coordinators, so that each rider can get full enjoyment from their lesson. We are lucky enough to have numerous riding areas, so there can be at least 4 or 5 groups at any one time. Rallies have a $30.00 fee per lesson.

Rallies are not held on the second Sunday in December or on any special dates/events.
