Jamieson Arboretum
A combined effort of the Jamieson Community, the Arboretum was planted in 1989 on the old pine plantation site, to become a picturesque addition to town. The Arboretum occupies 1.6 acres.
From the top of the arboretum the views over town and the surrounding mountains are stunning, especially spectacular in Autumn. A grassed path leads up to the pavilion.
The Arboretum contains the Gallipoli Oak (Quercus coccifera subsp. calliprinos) which commemorated the Anzac Centenary 2014-2018. This tree is a descendant of acorns sent home by a soldier at Gallipoli in 1915. It has been planted by school children in remembrance of those who served in WW1.
