The Ivanhoe Bowling Club has facilities for competitive and recreational lawn bowling facilities providing a sporting opportunity for every member of your family. Club facilities are available for hire for private functions including social bowls.

New to bowling and want to try it out? - The club offers a wide range of bowling activities during summer and winter. We are looking for new members to strengthen our club and ensure our continued success. Whether you are an experienced bowler seeking a new challenge or a new bowler you will be most welcome at this club. Social bowls is available summer and winter.

You can have fun and enjoy yourself at Ivanhoe. We provide a sporting and social environment for you, friends or family to have fun. We have facilities for competitive, social and barefoot bowls. The club facilities are available for private functions and barefoot bowls. Friday night happy hour is popular with the local residents providing a community feel to the club.

Membership

At Ivanhoe Bowls Club there are five types of membership - Social Bowling, Social non Bowling, Full, Indoor Biased and Junior.

Barefoot Bowls

Barefoot Bowls is one of the fastest growing sporting and recreational activities in Victoria. It's no secret, Barefoot Bowls provides a fun and enjoyable experience for afternoon or evening entertainment.

As part of your group of friends, family or a corporate or charity event you can organise a session of Barefoot Bowls at Ivanhoe. Bowls is also offered as part of your special function at the club. We regularly take group bookings for birthdays including 1st Birthday parties, business and corporate events and bowls and groups of friends wanting to get together.

At your barefoot bowls nights you can have a BBQ or your can organise your own food. The open bar ensures no thirst goes unquenched! We sell soft drink/Beer/Wine and water available for those who want it!

Music creates a fun atmosphere and get you in the bowling mood. Whether it be some classic hits or you bring their own, we provide blue tooth speakers so that you can tailor the music to your tastes.

Social and Competition

The club offers a wide range of social and competition bowls at Ivanhoe. We have activities during summer and winter. Members from other clubs and new bowlers are welcome to play in the social bowls games throughout summer and winter.

Summer Bowls
People play bowls at Ivanhoe with regular monthly social bowls tournaments from September to April each year.

These sponsored open events include the First Wednesday Social Triples, Second Monday Social Pairs, Third Wednesday Social Triples and Fourth Monday Pairs.

There are also a range of Club Championships competitions which club members are encouraged to enter.

Winter Bowls
In the winter months, we continue to play bowls at Ivanhoe with events on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons commencing at 12:30pm. It is usually a nominated two bowl triples event and is open to all bowlers.

Indoor Biased Pennant Competition
We have one side in the Northern Districts Indoor Biased Bowls competitions. These games are played in Preston.

We play indoor biased pennant games during the winter months (late April to late August) on Monday starting at 7pm. Practice on Thursday at 7pm. New players welcome. Come down to the club on Thursday night to try it out.

Pennant
The Pennant season runs from early October until March. Bowls Victoria runs the state pennant competitions. Players and clubs need to adhere to strict guidelines when playing in this competition. Ivanhoe Bowling Club has entered four sides in the Saturday competition and three sides in the Midweek competition. Also we participate in a Tuesday Night Pennant Competition commencing in October.
